Wifi channels and frequencies are regulated in each region. For example, Japan allows using the channel 14 but other countries don't allow it at all. Defining the wifi country code of your Recalbox ensure you using right channels and frequencies with the wireless connection.
In Recalbox, the default country code value is set to JP because permissive for all users, this value can be changed by your own in the recalbox.conf file.
